How Do I Make the Viral Crackle Coffee Drink?

Have you seen the viral crackle coffee come across your feeds? Andβ€”the most important questionβ€”have you tried crackle coffee made with real milk yet?

The crackle coffee making its rounds on social media is easy to make and customize once you have the right tools. An iced coffee served in a chocolate-covered cup, this drink is a fun way to level up your daily caffeine boost.

What Do I Need to Make Crackle Coffee?

A few items are needed to make the viral crackle coffee. However, most of the ingredients will depend on how elaborate your drink order is to prepare.

  • A clear, plastic cup with lid

  • Melting chocolate

  • Espresso coffee or beverage of choice

  • Milk

  • Flavored syrup

  • Ice

How Do I Make Crackle Coffee at Home?

First, melt your melting chocolate of choice (white chocolate, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, or even colorful options), though dark chocolate will be the easiest to melt and cool quickly. To melt, either stir melting chocolate on low heat on a stovetop or place the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave in short increments, stirring between rounds. It is important not to burn the melting chocolate, so be patient with this part of the process.

Once the chocolate is melted, you can begin preparing your beverage. Completely cover the inside of a plastic cup in the melted chocolate and allow it to cool. You can place the cup in the freezer to speed up the cooling process. Ensure the inside walls of the cup are covered in a thin layer of cooled chocolate before moving to the next step.

Next, prepare your iced beverage in a separate container. Though coffee is in the name, this crackle coffee trend can be modified for tea lattes or hot chocolate. Prepare your favorite iced beverage to add to the chocolate cup. (For iced coffee, pour espresso and milk into a glass filled with ice.)

When preparing your latte, choose real milk. The natural electrolytes, carbohydrates, and high-quality protein in milk make it a winner when it comes to rehydration. If you are lactose intolerant, use lactose-free milk for your latte. Lactose-free milk is real milk, just without the lactose. There are many lactose-free milk options on the market offering electrolytes to help you stay hydrated.

Add any desired flavored syrups, honey, extracts, or other additions like sugar or sea salt. Stir well and pour into the chocolate-covered cup. Add any desired toppings, like whipped cream or cold foam.

Once the beverage is assembled, cover the plastic cup with a lid. Gently press the cup to crack the cooled chocolate, allowing it to blend into the prepared drink.

Finally, enjoy!
