Virtual Farm Tour of Tri-Spring Jerseys: Connecting Dairy Farming With the Classroom

If you are an educator, you have likely heard the acronym β€œSTEM” at some point in your career, or you play a large part in STEM education in your school environment. STEM stands for β€œScience, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics,” which are all included in many grade levels throughout a student’s educational career.

Take a trip down memory lane. Picture yourself in science class learning chemistry or environmental science. While thoughts of school may bring about memories of tests you forgot to study for, or surprise pop quizzes, it also can bring to memory the hands-on experiences of science experiments. The Dairy Alliance has a unique opportunity for teachers to relate those relevant STEM concepts to students in a new way!

Dairy farmers in the Southeast and throughout the United States are scientists! They troubleshoot issues, figure out problems, and ultimately put ice-cold milk on the shelf at the grocery store, school cafeterias, restaurants, and beyond. We have created a virtual farm tour that will connect you to a southeast dairy farm and provide interactive STEM resources for you to use in your classroom.

Join us for this Virtual Event on June 7th at 12 PM CST by using the following registration link, Webinar Registration - Zoom, or by following us on Facebook with our live event. We will visit Tri Springs Jersey Farm in Henry County, Tennessee, and will highlight resources and lesson plans available to STEM educators.

Be sure to connect with us on social media to stay up-to-date on dairy happenings across the southeast. You can find us by searching @thedairyalliance on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest. We are also on TikTok as @realdairyrealdelicious. These pages and our website have recipes, nutritional information, and resources about dairy science.
