Second Annual Mississippi Dietetics Day Highlights Milk

The Dairy Alliance hosted its second annual Dietetics Day with three Mississippi universities with dietetic programs to educate students on the importance of dairy in the diet and its accessibility. The students began their day learning about breast milk processing and distribution of breast milk at the MS Milk Bank and attending the MS Food Network for a team-building activity before lunch with a presentation on dairy and sustainability. Quala Madkin RD, dairy advocate, presented information on professions in dietetics followed by Cassandra Mobley with MS Food Network. The students toured the food bank and helped bag up backpacks to feed hungry students in an afterschool programs.
