North Carolina Ag Recognizes Industry Dedication This NDM

North Carolina dairy farmers, industry, youth and ag leaders gathered at Danner Farms in Statesville to kickoff National Dairy Month. In addition to enjoying a great meal, the crowd heard remarks from the NCSU College of Agriculture Dean Garey Fox and Rich Bonanno, associate dean for NCSU Cooperative Extension. Andy Curliss with the National Pork Board was also in attendance and offered words of advice to the youth in attendance as they consider their futures.

Awards were given for winning teams and individuals in the 4-H dairy judging, skillathon, and quiz bowl competitions held this year. The NC Dairy Youth Foundation also presented Shelley Sharpe and Nancy Keith with service recognitions in honor of their work with the dairy youth program. NC Dairy Producers Association presented service awards to Norman Jordan and Reid Smith for their years of leadership and dedication to the Association. The Marvin E. Senger Distinguished Dairy Farmer award was presented to White Rock Farms.
