All Things Dairy at McLemore Birdsong Pediatric Conference

Our community wellness team is exhibiting at the McLemore Birdsong Pediatric Conference, one of three major pediatric conferences in Virginia with 130 pediatricians in attendance. Educational handouts that highlight the role of dairy foods across the lifespan, provide lactose intolerance tips, and explain the role of iodine in supporting prenatal brain development (1 serving of milk provides 60% of the daily value!) were shared with attendees. The Dairy Truth documentary was also screened to give some insight into what is happening on a dairy farm. Educating pediatricians remains a focus for community wellness since we know they are the trusted source of information for many parents making nutrition choices!
