Serving Smoothies in Heard County
The Dairy Alliance's Will McWhirter visited Heard County High School to show the nutrition staff from across the system how to make delicious and nutritious smoothies made with real milk, yogurt, and frozen fruits and incorporate them into weekly menus. Samples were offered to students at lunch to give them a chance to try the smoothies, who enjoyed the new offering.
All Heard County schools received smoothie-making equipment via the Fuel Up grants, so managers from the other schools joined the training. The training ensured that staff were confident and ready to offer these tasty smoothies to their students going forward throughout Heard County.
