Dairy At the 2023 Tennessee State Fair

The Tennessee State Fair was held August 17th through the 26th with 739,315 people in attendance. During the fair, dairy was on full display! The Ag Venture barn showcased live animal displays where The Dairy Alliance provided a booth packed with educational materials and interactive displays to learn more about dairy farming across the state. The local Lebanon High School FFA chapter was there to share their experiences raising livestock and the dairy show was held August 23th-24th.

Additionally, The Dairy Alliance assisted the Tennessee Department of Agriculture in handing out dairy products during three days of the fair, offering ice cream sandwiches, cheese sticks and yogurt to attendees. The Tennessee Dairy Promotion Committee sponsored Dairy Day giveaways during the weekend days of the fair. The Dairy Alliance had three recipe demonstrations for those visiting the Pick Tennessee Market, where dairy advocate Karman Meyer RD prepared Big Bowl Cheese Dip with Homemade Pretzels, a fun duo for fall tailgating.
